August 29

Saturday 29 August

Today is the day! The start of our holiday is finally here. We were putting our bags in the car when the zip on Bob’s suitcase broke. Better now than later, so a very quick bag swap and off we went. Josh drove us out to the airport to get some driving practice and he’s going to look after my car while we’re away. As usual I was ridiculously nervous about flying, but all was just fine and we actually had quite a good flight. The flight crew on Virgin Blue are quite amusing and during their safety spiel when they were instructing us how to use our oxygen masks in the event of an emergency, said that we were to fit our own before fitting our husbands. Hehe. On our arrival their announcement said ‘welcome to Hobart - it’s freezing and only 6 degree’s’. So yes, it was a little cool but not overly cold. We picked up our hire car and headed into Hobart city to find the Salamanca Markets. We managed to find them and enjoyed bit of a wander while we picked up some fruit n veggies for the week. Love the look of Hobart even though it’s raining and very overcast. We also picked up some yummy cheese and enjoyed a delicious meal of steak and veggies with mushroom gravy. Our room is lovely and as usual, the resort is well out of the city as they tend to be with Wyndham. Looking forward to doing some exploring over the next few days.
